The harpist Lily-Marlene Puusepp studied with Marjatta Haahti at the Sibelius Academy and she graduated with a MA degree in 2005. She has performed in a multitude of Finnish festivals: the Musica Nova festival in Helsinki, the Viitasaari festival, the Tampere Biennale, the Helsinki festival, the Sibelius festival in Lovisa, the Kymijoki Lohisoitto festival, the Jyväskylä Summer festival, The Crusell week and Hangö music festival. She has played as soloist with orchstras as the Jyväskylä Sinfonietta, Lappeenranta Philharmonic orchestra, the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra, Seinäjoki Orchestra and Avanti! Chamber Orchestra, and her concert tours have taken her outside Scandinavia to Central Europe, Japan and Australia. She has recorded several Cd:s and made radio broadcasts for the Finnish Radio broadcasting company. Puusepp is a member of the Defun-ensemble who specializes in electroacustic music, and she has world premiered many solo and chamber music works for the harp. As an orchestra musician she has played in the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Oslo National opera orchestra and she has been leader of the harp section in the Finnish RSO. Her instrument is a Lyon & Heal Style 23 concert harp that was purchased with support from the Finnish Cultural Foundation, The Alfred Kordelin Foundation and the Sibelius Academy Foundation. At present Lily-Marlene Puusepp teaches at the Helsinki Conservatory, music institute Juvenalia and at the music institute in Vantaa.
